Piotr
Ocular FIP

Hemorrhage in eyes, Loss of vision

Piotr, a 5-month-old domestic shorthair kitten, came to us with concerning symptoms that had been developing over the past two weeks. He was experiencing lethargy, loss of appetite, and overall weakness, which had escalated to severe ocular symptoms, including full pupil dilation, noticeable hemorrhage, and loss of vision.

Serum biochemistry at the initial exam was indicative of FIP, with noted hyperglobulinemia (gamma-globulin 37.3g/l; reference 5-25g/l), mild hypoalbuminemia, and an A/G ratio of 0.59. Test for FCoV antibody titer was positive.

Treatment with The FurPurr GS441524 was initiated at 10mg/kg SID. Within 24 hours of starting treatment with GS441524, Piotr began to show resolution of hemorrhage in the eyes.  Within 4 days, Piotr regained vision which progressively improved throughout treatment.

After 12 weeks of treatment previously noted serum biochemistry abnormalities had normalized. (gamma-globulin 15.8g/l; reference 5-25g/l; A/G ratio 1.14)

Piotr is clinically normal as of 3 months post treatment.
